Hi All.. Welcome to my blog ๐ย
Hope you all are doing good. Last weekend I had a great time travelling to Gokarna and I’m sure you all would also love to travel there after reading my blog. I would like to share with you all that how beautiful the place is!! ๐
Short description about Gokarna.
Gokarna is a small temple town in Karnataka, approximately 500 kms from Bangalore, famous for it’s temples and sea beaches. It is one of the best places to spend your weekend, enjoying the view of the Arabian sea from different beaches. We were a group of six people, who were stressed out due to monotonous work life so the plan worked out. It was the time to chill and relax.
How you can reach Gokarna from Bangalore?
Travelling from Bangalore to Gokarna is very easy as there are many options to travel. Firstly, you would get flights till the nearest aiport to Gokarna that is Goa. Distance between Goa and Gokarna is 147 km by road and 87 km by rail. Secondly, trains are also available from Bangalore to Gokarna and the easiest option would be to travel by bus. There are direct buses at regular intervals everyday.
How we started our journey and spent our weekend in Gokarna?
We started our journey by bus on 3rd August. It was a 2 day trip. It took around 12 hrs for us to reach there. We had already pre-booked our resort, nearby Om beach. We reached there, got freshened up, had our brunch and started exploring the beaches. It was already very late then.

Day 1: Om Beach, Kudle Beach, Exploring Gokarna Town.
We started with Om beach, which was the nearest beach from our resort. It was a little crowded beach but the beauty of this beach is unexplainable. The beach got it’s name because of it’s shape “Om”. We enjoyed the waves coming across and caressing our feet. The view was photogenic so we started taking photos and walked through the beach further. Generally, you would get ferry’s (boats) from Om beach for a round trip (Om-Paradise-Half moon), but during monsoon availability of ferry’s were not there. We spent some time resting on the beach and then headed towards Kudle beach which was also good.

After spending around 1 hour in Kudle beach, we took a small ride through the Gokarna town, had some snacks and then headed back to our resort. It was the ending of a peaceful day, relaxing in the swimming pool after a very tiring day. Then we had our dinner and had good sleep that night.
Day 2: Trekking to Paradise Beach, Half Moon Beach, Gokarna Main Beach
On our second day, we had our beakfast and started for the Paradise Beach. Never knew a sea beach could be so beautiful. This beach is a hidden beach. To reach there, we had to do a 20 minutes trekking through a forest, which was a thrilling one. It was like we were lost. Luckily, we met two people coming back from the beach who guided us how to reach there. We were literally tired because of the humid weather. But the view that we had after that had made this trekking a fruitful one ๐ ๐ The name really defines it – “The Paradise” Beach. It was more beautiful than Om and Kudle beach.

From Paradise beach, we went to Half Moon beach which was equally beautiful. Then it was time for lunch. We had Dosa and started for our next and the last beach – Gokarna Main Beach. This beach was not that much crowded, so we thought of relaxing there for some time. We spent quite a lot of time there, had some snacks.

It was time to leave then. We had our bus at 7.20 pm back to Bangalore. It was the end of a beautiful trip, which I wanted to last longer ๐ฆ I would love to visit there again because of the scenic beauty and also we could not cover a lot of places, since 2 days were not enough and some places could not visited due to monsoon.
Tips for your stay:
- Book your buses from KSRTC sites or Redbus.
- Plan your visit between the months of October to February so that you get to visit places which we couldn’t visit due to damp weather. There is a beautiful waterfall butย that area was full of leeches now.ย We couldn’t get a view of the sunset either as the skyย was covered with clouds.
- Pre-book your resorts and bikes/scooters beforehand if you have plan of travelling in peak season.
- If girls are travelling alone, please do not stay in secluded places.
- Try to enjoy the place you are in. Feel the nature.
