Raw Mango Chutney

Hello Everyone,

It’s been already a year I last wrote my blog. But then this is the time I again start writing my blogs which I love a lot. I have started cooking and framing them in this lockdown period.

Hoping this world heals quickly from this disastrous situation and people start living the way they were doing before this pandemic.

With this I start my first blog of 2020. I prepared Raw Mango Chutney – The dessert that people in prefer in this summer season.

That khatta meetha (tangy and sweet) taste of mango is the soul of this dish. This chutney is my favourite amongst all kinds of chutneys !!!

So let’s start with the process of cooking:

First of all we need to do the preparation:

Ingredients:

i. 1 Raw Mango sliced or cut in cubes

ii. Sugar – 70 gm ( as per the tartness of mango, if tartness is ore in mango accordingly we have to adjust the taste of sugar)

iii. Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp (black/yellow)

iv. Salt -1/2 tbsp

v. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp (for colour of the chutney)

vi. Cooking Oil – 1 tbsp

vii. 1 cup water

Cooking:

i. Heat a pan/kadhai

ii. Add oil and heat a little

iii. Add the mustard seeds ( if you are using black mustard just let it crackle and then follow the next process but if using yellow mustard, saute a little and let the colour change to brown and then follow the next process)

iv. Add the mangoes and saute for 2 mins

v. Add 1 cup water and then add sugar, salt and turmeric powder.

vi. Mix them and let it boil for 3-4 mins

v. Check if mangoes are cooked well

vi. Check the gravy consistency as per your choice.

vii. Let it cool and then server.

You will like the sweet and tangy flavor of the chutney, it serves the dessert purpose in almost indian house during the summer as it protects us from heat waves, keeps our stomach and ody cool, prevents diarrhea and keeps our body glowing.
